Linux Kernel 4.5.4 Released

Kernel is hart of Linux OS, Stable kernel updates are released on as-needed basis, usually 2-3 a month. Kernel Development Team happily announced the immediate availability of Kernel 4.5.4 today few hours back on May 11, 2016 for varies hardware support improvement.

  • The root cause is identified as the HWP interrupts causing BIOS code to freeze, when enabling HWP (Hardware PStates)feature on Skylake-based systems by the Intel P-states driver

  • Fix signaling logic in hv_need_to_signal_on_read()
  • fix buffer overflow in read
